Cornell has always impressed me with his ability to create evocative imagery using almost nothing at all. In some ways, some very primitive ways, I feel like this may be the highest form of minimalism. It emobdies the cyberpunk motto, the ideal of recombinance as a valid creative impulse, as the valid creative impulse. We all have our inspirations, our influences, our personal system that we impose on our work. The only question is whether what we make is more or less than the sum of its parts.
